Why Attend

The UK’s Leading Conference for Residential Development Planning

I got a lot out of the day. the event covered the right issues, with some excellent presentations and discussions. It was great to meet so many people and talk about what is happening in planning informally as well.

With big changes for residential development planning now taking effect, including the Planning & Infrastructure Act, the revised draft National Planning Policy Framework, plus the current challenges around development viability and the impact of Environmental Legislation in planning, we have worked in conjunction with Central Government, the Planning Inspectorate, and leading Planning Advisors and Local Authorities from across the Country, to compile an agenda for the event, which returns for a 20th year.

The 2026 National Conference has been completely updated to offer crucial updates on new Planning Legislation Nationally, the Planning & Infrastructure Act, the revised draft NPPF and the move to a more rules-based, decision-making-led planning system, the future of Section 106 and Developer Contributions, the current issues around Development Viability, Green Belt and Grey Belt and the Golden Rules, new towns and strategic planning, Local Plans and Spatial Development Strategies, Environmental Law, the Nature Restoration Fund, Nutrient Neutrality, Biodiversity Net Gain, AI and new technology in planning, Compulsory Purchase Orders, hope value and land value capture, plus all the other key issues in Resi Planning. We will also hear from a panel of developers, as well as the viewpoints of several Local Authorities from across the UK. It is a day packed full of key information, and not to be missed.

Over the last 19 years this event has been attended on an annual basis by hundreds of the leading developers, local authorities, advisors and planners from across the UK and is long established as a key annual date for those involved with current or future residential planning permissions, planning negotiations, or plan making.

The vast majority of attendees are senior level decision makers, Director level & above

The event is followed by the Annual Resi Planning Drinks Reception, which allows speakers and attendees to catch up properly and chat informally.
